A LIFE OF IMPACT

In 2018, Mikeyta I. Chapman-Morris founded the non-profit organization Diamond N The Rough N-P Inc. (501(c)(3) with the intent to create a independent living facility for young adults who have aged out of foster care and are facing the challenging transition to adulthood. Mikeyta I Chapman- Morris has dedicated over 20 years to supporting individuals, families, and communities in navigating life’s toughest seasons. With a master’s degree in social work and a bachelor’s degree in community and human services, she has applied her specialized knowledge of mental and behavioral health to partners with remarkable organizations and serve vulnerable populations. Her acquired skills in mental and behavioral health, cultural competency, advocacy, community outreach, and crisis intervention are applied through therapeutic communication that aligns a Christian faith and evidence-based practices.
What We Do
Diamond N The Rough N-P Inc. provides long-term housing for individuals who are aging or have aged out of the foster care system. We provide stability, safety, and support for mental health as each young adult grows through healing, life skills training, and mentorship. We offer advocacy, crisis intervention, housing assistance, wellness programs, outreach, entrepreneurship training, and leadership opportunities. Each service is designed to meet young adults where they are, equipping them with the tools and support they need to become productive and self-sufficient individuals. Our goal is to help these young adults thrive in their communities by providing them with a stable housing foundation along with a variety of resources and services, enabling them to create a better quality of life.
Our Values
As these young adults leave foster care, it’s important to recognize the hope and strength that can guide them through this tough time. Our core values, based on biblical teachings and proven theories, can inspire them.
✨ Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that there are plans for each person, meant to bring hope and a bright future. This is comforting for those leaving foster care, as it shows their journey has potential.
✨ Matthew 11:28-30 invites people to seek comfort during hard times. Leaving foster care can be overwhelming, but this message of support reminds them they are not alone.
Using these values can help them build a hopeful and fulfilling future as they navigate this new chapter.
